The Sable Island Wild Horses are one of the only protected and unmanaged wild horse breeds in Canada, and one of the largest in the world. Over 500 horses roam the tiny, isolated sand bar. Their survival in this unforgiving landscape is testament to the strength and adaptability of the horse.
All photography was taken during the documentary production of “S(t)able Island:The Beauty of the Free” in 2013. If you’re intrigued to learn more about Sable Island and its wild horses, I encourage you to purchase a copy of the documentary to discover more.
